Oxaprozin, drug used for relief of pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis , osteoarthritis , gout , and tendinitis. Oxaprozin blocks the production of chemicals called prostaglandins, which may trigger pain and inflammation. This drug is available by prescription only and comes in 600-mg caplets that are taken orally. The typical adult dosage is 1200 mg per day determined individually on the basis of weight and health.
